In an extraordinary display of talent and athleticism, Theo Gowland from our Monday/Wednesday group achieved a ground breaking feat on June 25, 2023. Competing in the discus throw event at Monkton in the NEYDL, Theo not only broke the club's long-standing Under 13 Boys record, but also secured the third-place position on the all-time list. This remarkable achievement is all the more impressive considering it was Theos debut in the discus event.
The previous record, held by Daniel Brazukas a remarkable 9 years and 24 days since July 1, 2014, had remained unchallenged until Theos exceptional performance. By surpassing this record in his very first attempt, Theo has left an indelible mark on our clubs sporting history and demonstrated his natural talent and adaptability.
Moreover, Theos accomplishments extended beyond the discus throw. he also shattered his PB in the 75m hurdles. This additional triumph further solidifies Theos talent and dedication across multiple events, hinting at the potential for even greater achievements in the future.
